The Kissing Booth is a Netflix movie that came out in May of 2018. It is about a girl and boy who are best friends and have rules to keep the friendship stable. The main rule is that the girl, Elle Evans (played by Joey King) is not allowed to date her best friend’s brother. They end up kissing at a kissing booth and falling for each other. Conflict develops when the one rule comes in between the two friends but is eventually worked through and they wind up happy together.

To All the Boys I Loved Before is about a young girl, Lara Jean Covey, who writes five letters to boys who are never supposed to read them. Her sister sends them out and each of the boys receive them. This causes problems because one of the boys is the ex of Lara’s sister. In order to avoid that problem, Lara fakes a relationship with one of the boys who received a letter, Peter Kavinsky, so that he can make his ex jealous and she can convince the ex of her sister that she is not into him. Lara and Peter end up falling for each other in the end.

When compared, To All the Boys I Loved Before has had much more success than The Kissing Booth. Mrs. Wright said, “To All the Boys I Loved Before was amazing, it reflected sweet and pure, and also realistic love between high school students. The best romcom I have seen in a long time.” To All the Boys I Loved Before was way more realistic than The Kissing Booth. A Junior, Mikelle Kempton, said, “To All the Boys I Loved Before was way better because the actresses and actors were way better than the ones in The Kissing Booth.”

Many girls have  hyped up the main actor in To All the Boys I Loved Before, Peter Kavinksy, because of his looks and how he treats Lara in the movie. Jayden Baugh, a Junior, said, “To All the Boys I Loved Before is so hot and is seriously attractive both inside and out. In contrast, Noah is not attractive whatsoever.” The Kissing Booth was very cheesy and did not have as good of quality, but To All the Boys I Loved Before was the perfect amount of realistic and romance.

In conclusion, To All the Boys I Loved Before was way better and enjoyed more by not only teens but audience of all ages. The actors, actresses, and the romance helped the movie get more praise. It is a love story every girl fantasizes about.
