Last Wednesday, America’s Got Talent crowned their 12th winner! An 11 year old ventriloquist named Darci Lynne took the 1 million dollars beating out the 10 yr. old singer Angelica Hale.

Tuesday, the contestants had the opportunity to perform and show off their talent with one last act to prove to America that they should win, and they did not disappoint. Every act was aw-inspiring, but this time $1,000,000 was at stake and every contestant wanted to win. 52 million votes were sent in which is a record for the show.

On Wednesday, each contestant paired up with a similar talent and performed briefly before the winner was revealed. Mandy Harvey, an amazing deaf singer and Chase Goehring, an Ed Sheeran type singer who adds a bit of super-fast paced lyrics into his songs performed together. Chase Goehring was sent home, and Mandy Harvey  was placed in the top 5.

Next, Evie Clair, the singer who’s father recently passed away paired up with Sarah and Hero — the dog and human dancing pair. Sarah and Hero were advancing to the final 5, and Evie Clair was sent home.

Then Light Balance and Diavolo were up, both amazing dance groups, but Light balance definitely beat Diavolo out with the the eye tricking light show that light Balance put on.

Darci Lynne and Preacher Lawson were next. They were both hilarious, but America liked the 11 year old girl better and Preacher was sent home.

Angelica Hale, the 10 year old amazing singer, and Kechi, also an amazing singer who was the only survivor of a plane crash years ago. America decided do go with the very young talent with a huge future.

Then they cut out Mandey Harvey, and Sarah and Hero to leave it to Light Balance, Darci Lynne, and Angelica Hale. Light Balance was sent home, and the last two remained. Then they announced the winner! Darci Lynne, the amazing ventriloquist, comedian, and singer had won the $1,000,000 over Angelica Hale.

Darci Lynne said,”I am definitely going to give some to my church. Because they always raise money for different missions and mission programs,” she said. “And second, I have to give my mom a dishwasher because we definitely need more household appliances.” But Farmer doesn’t forget to a little something for herself on the list, adding “And a pug. I want a pug really bad!” She obviously cares about a lot more people than herself because the only thing she was gonna spend money on on herself for was a dog!

But who would you rather have won? I would say Light Balance should have won because they were the most unique and mind blowing. Darci Lynne definitely would’ve been number 2, and Angelica Hale would’ve been my number three. This year, America’s Got Talent views per episode and votes were higher than they have ever been. That reflects back on the amount of talent that was competing for the 1 million dollars this season.

Darci Lynne is truly an amazing ventriloquist with multiple talents that she combined into one t win America’s Got Talent. Her future will be watched closely, and there is no doubt she will be an even bigger star in the future.
