Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest instalment to the Animal Crossing series. Animal Crossing is a social simulation game in which players can experience the creation of their own villages with anthropomorphic animals residents. The game is in sync with real time which allows players of the series to come back everyday and check what is new in their village. Many fans of the series have wanted a new Animal Crossing game since it has been about eight years since the previous game in the series had been released. Now that Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released back on March 20, it is time to see how great the latest installment is.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons begins with the player heading to a deserted island with two animal villagers. Players can choose a basic look for their own villager and can change its style later in the game.  Before heading over to the deserted island, players are able to choose which island they want. Once players arrive at their village and have set up a tent, the game has truly begun. Players can craft items that will help them explore new areas of the island or help make their island look more inhabited.

Tom Nook, an animal who only wants the players money, reminds players that nothing is free and they have to pay off their debt for traveling to the island with a new feature in the game called Nook Miles. Nook Miles are points that are earned for doing some activities. This is the only time the game allows players to use Nook Miles to pay off debts, but can be used to purchase select items. After this, players will have to earn money in a currency called Bells.  There are several activities for players to do everyday such as crafting new items, fishing, bug catching, interacting with the animal villagers and improving their island. Some of these activities will help players earn more Bells or Nook Miles to pay off debts or purchase new items.

Over time, players will have improved their island in various ways allowing them to unlock more things to improve their island. Once the player has invited more animal villagers to live on their island and has completed Tom Nook’s plan to improve the island, the player will receive a special K.K. Slider performance every Saturday and a new ability which allows the player to terraform. Terraforming lets players reshape their island and truly make every single bit the players own dream island.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons not only does a good job of keeping players busy with new things to do everyday but it also has incredible graphics and an amazing new music that changes every hour. Animal Crossing: New horizons is an excellent game and is an excellent improvement from the previous games in the series. With several villages to interact with and many  daily or season activities to complete, Animal Crossing: New Horizons does not become boring quickly. With giving the player all the freedom in the game, there is always a unique way of making the perfect island. Animal Crossing New: Horizons is truly a spectacular game.
