Chiefs’ Football Player Pays it Forward After Super Bowl Win

The Super Bowl on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020 was definitely one for the books. Whatever team you rooted for, both teams put on quite the show and left the viewers tense throughout the entire game. The San Francisco 49ers, in the beginning of the game, were tied with the Chiefs with 10 points in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter of the game, the Chiefs made an unexpected advancement in the game and scored 21 more points which eventually led to their unforgettable win. Patrick Mahomes, quarterback, threw two passes that got their team the touchdowns they worked so hard for. Mahomes says, “I knew we weren’t in an ideal situation. But I believed in my defense to get stops. They did. And the guys kept believing in me to start making plays down the field, and we found a way to win.”Chiefs linebacker Damien Wilson said after the game,“We never are out of a game. Never. … It’s not how you start. It’s how you finish.” All of these team member seemed to work perfectly together and clearly showed it as they talked positively after they pulled their way up to the top for this years championship game.

The last time the Chiefs won the Super Bowl was in 1970, about 50 years ago! Coach Andy Reid was ecstatic for his team and his team were even more so. The win even earned some tears of joy given by the winning players and their coach. Nothing could feel better than this win for the Kansas City Chiefs, or maybe it could. One star player decided to spread the love of the victorious win to unexpected homeless pets.

One team member, Derrick Nnadi, decided to celebrate the Championship win by paying for adoptions for all adoptable dogs at the KC Pet Project. ABC news writes, “The NFL champ has had a season-long partnership through his namesake foundation with KC Pet Project and came up with the idea to sponsor all adoption fees if the team took home a W against the San Francisco 49ers.” This wonderful act of paying it forward was greatly appreciated by all the adopters and of course the furry children themselves.

This defensive tackle star player, Derrick Nnadi, shares his point of view on the whole situation on Twitter saying, “”the perfect way to cap off this great season!!” Derrick Nnadi didn’t just pay for a few of KC’s Pet’s to get adopted, he payed for all of them. The KC Pet Project in Kansas City, Missouri say they care for more than 10,000 pets a year. Derrick Nnadi payed for over 100 of them to get adopted. Several amazing people have already taken their new furry pals home with them thanks to Derrick’s service. A memorable moment is in both the Super Bowl and Derrick’s fantastic way of paying it forward. The Chiefs win in the Super Bowl was celebrated by Chiefs fans all around and Derrick’s generous donations give fans even more of a reason to love him and his team.
