The Hunting of Lewis (Part 12)

Lewis had been gone for awhile and I was starting to get a little worried. I was mad at him for leaving me down here all alone with no directions pointing in the way of his family. I was wallowing in my own self pity when out of nowhere I heard a voice. It wasn’t Lewis’s voice nor was it any of his family member’s voices. It was a voice I’ve heard before though and it came with a memory. A memory that I had tried so hard to push away.

“Hannah, what are you doing?”

“Hallie?! Hallie is that you?”

I was freaking out.

“Yes and I need you to listen to me. Lewis is in danger. You need to go down this hallway and take a right. After that, there’s going to be a door, walk through it. When you get there, there will be a key pad. You need to type in the numbers 8-5-4-4-3. After you type that in, a door will open and Lewis’s family will be there. Tell them that they’re here. They’ll know what to do.”

“Wait, I don’t understand. How are you here?”

“I don’t have time to explain and Lewis doesn’t have much time left either. Go help him Hannah. He’s good and he deserves to be saved. Go, go now. Goodbye Hannah.”

“No, no don’t leave me! Don’t leave.”

I was in tears  but I didn’t have time for that. I started running down the hallway and found the turn. I stopped and whispered into the emptiness, “I’m sorry.” I heard her whisper back, “I forgive you.”

A tear trickled down my face. I pushed the first door open, then typed in the code. The second door opened with a screeching noise.
