Recently, a fake video of Trump brutally murdering political opponents, news networks, and various organizations was shown at his own resort as a joke, but also as a political satire to display the constant and ongoing battle on social media. Heads at the conference taking place claim to have never seen the video or approved the display of such.

Last week a three day Pro-Trump rally was held by a pro-Trump group, American Priority, at one of his resorts in Miami where Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, and Donald Trump Jr. were scheduled to speak, a satirical and disturbing video was shown. The video showcased, clearly fake, included clips from the movie “Kingsman: The Secret Service” to encourage or promote violence against the media. By doing so, the original author has succeeded in putting all of Trump’s political opponents in an outrage as all have responded to the video with a great seriousness. CNN commented on the video saying, “Sadly, this is not the first time that supporters of the president have promoted violence against media in a video they apparently find entertaining — but it is by far and away the worst. The images depicted are vile and horrific.” Beto O’Rourke, a former Texas representative said, “Last year, a Trump supporter sent bombs to CNN — and a shooter entered a church yesterday. This video isn’t funny. It will get people killed.” Senator Chris Murphy tweeted, “Every mother and father in America should watch video. Play it all the way to end. Know that this is the re-election message of your President. And then ask yourself — how you sit your kids down and tell them you want this person to lead us.” The president’s political adversaries have held the president responsible for this and are trying to use the event as an advantage over him, and have been very successful in doing so.

The confusing part of the scenario is that the people heading the Trump rally and all the people designated to speak at it claim to have no idea as to why the video was shown as no one claims to have approved the showing of the video. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, “I was there to speak at a prayer breakfast, where I spoke about unity and bringing the country together. I wasn’t aware of any video, nor do I support violence of any kind against anyone.” The organizer of the event, Alex Phillips, also commented saying, “Content was submitted by third parties and was not associated with or endorsed by the conference in any official capacity. American Priority rejects all political violence and aims to promote a healthy dialogue about the preservation of free speech. This matter is under review.” The spokesman, Tim Murtaugh, said, “That video was not produced by the campaign, and we do not condone violence.” As much as all related to the incident have tried to repair the damage done, it may be detrimental to Trump’s campaign for 2020, and consequently cost him his second election as president.

The fake video of Trump killing people representing news networks or opponents has created a media firestorm that he will not soon forget. Democratic presidential candidates will milk every last bit of dirt they can get on Trump out of this event, while he and his supporters will do their best to bounce back from this setback.
