I did not know what to do so I screamed loud enough for somebody to hear me. It triggered him to launch toward me and I took off running to my room. I tripped on the carpet and almost fumbled to the floor, but I was able to reach my bedroom’s door handle to pull myself in. As I turned around to close my door, I saw him bolting down the hallway and I slammed my door shut.

He wasn’t there anymore and I felt as if a rock had finally lifted off my chest.

I walked down the hallway and into the kitchen. Everything was still in tact. Even the knife that the Shadow Being pulled out was back in its original slot on the counter. It was as if nothing had happened. I plopped down onto my couch and turned on the television.
