Critics say Avengers: Endgame is the most anticipated movie to leave theaters in years. Previously introduced as Infinity War-Part 2, it took over four years for the production to finally leave theaters. The initial release of Avengers: Endgame was April 25, 2019, a very busy day for movie theaters across the globe. Tickets sold out very quickly, and to insure good seating, fans would line up hours early outside of the theater. Longer than any other Avengers movie, Endgame is exactly 3 hours and 2 minutes. Avengers: Infinity War, which was released almost a year ago, is the movie closest in length to Endgame which is 2 hours and 40 minutes. It is clear fans will not be disappointed with Endgame, but expectations are high as this is the last Avengers movie ever.

Since so many people were anxious to see this movie as soon as it came out, it was hard for box offices to even keep any tickets in stock. In fact, since tickets went on sale in the beginning of April, Avengers: Endgame has broken approximately 144 Box office records across the country, and most likely Marvel will break several more records in the coming days and weeks. In just the opening weekend Marvel surpassed the previous record holder in ticket sales which was Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Speaking about the previous record, an article from Variety says, “That crown currently belongs to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” with its mighty $149 million sophomore outing in North America. “Avengers: Endgame” is already in uncharted territory after its jaw-dropping $357 million opening weekend.” Those numbers are not expected to stop growing anytime soon.

Avengers: Endgame answered many questions and hypotheses that fans and critics had about what would happen when all the Avengers movies would come to a conclusion. This is Marvel’s last movie in the 22 movie series so it had a lot of loose ends to tie up. Because Marvel has so many movies to draw from for illusions, quotes and characters are displayed in this movie dating all the way back to Iron Man 1. The directors did such an incredible job that it seemed like all the previous movies were building up to this one.  Marvel has strongly hinted that this will be their last Avengers movie, but it does not seem like the fans want to stop watching these movies and Marvel would like to keep making record-shattering sales.
