Avengers: Endgame, being released almost a year after Avengers Infinity War, has sparked many topics and threads all over the internet debating different theories on how the movie will go. Some are hopeful and speculate that the original Avengers team will survive, while others are more pessimistic, and believe that the original team will die. There are some in the middle that believe that only a portion of the team will die, but due to the lack of meaningful information from Disney and Marvel, these speculations have very little basis for predicting the path the plot of Endgame will take. Although, some theories are so extreme that they have been debunked directly by the Russo brothers and other movie producers, one of them being the theory that mentions the ridiculous proposal that Ant-Man will shrink himself and travel up Thanos’s backside and proceed to enlarge himself and destroy Thanos from the inside. During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Anthony Russo stated,” This theory is truly the most ridiculous fan theory we’ve ever heard.” Joe Russo then said,”But it’s a highly inventive one. I want to know who came up with it.” Paul Rudd, the actor who plays Ant-Man, said,”I’ve been asked about it a bunch. I am amused a bit at how widespread it seems to have gotten.” However in a serious manner, there are many other plausible theories that could play out within the movie

The first of many theories is that Thanos will take back all of his actions. The only problem with this theory is that Thanos did what he did for the purpose of saving the universe from reaching max capacity, thus making the wake of his murderous actions justified in his own eyes. He recognizes himself as the “good guy”, and thus believes that what he has done is “good”, therefore making this theory less plausible than others.

With the ending of Robert Downey JR’s and Chris Evans’s contract, many fans have come to the conclusion that these two greats heroes will meet their fall. This theory is sadly the most possible since they have both expressed desires to finalize their relationship with Marvel and superhero movies in general, and wish to move on with their life. I believe that this is a fair sentiment, as the first Iron Man and Captain America movies came out in 2008 and 2011, respectively. It would be a depressing moment in the movie to see the big heads meet an unfortunate fate. There’s also several theories that either Captain America or Iron Man will die, and neither of them in Endgame. Iron Man’s death would be more plausible, as he is the one who started the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the one who prepared and fought the most against Thanos. His undoing would be a tragically bittersweet moment, and would finalize his character and story.

Now for arguably the most popular and plausible theory for the upcoming Endgame film, it’s time travel. With the new suits and the mentioning of the time vortexes in the quantum realm, many have come to the quick conclusion that time travel will be definitely be happening. However, it may just be coincidental and time travel will not happen. With little evidence it is difficult to come to a new power within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although, fans have come up with several possibilities that could help the Avengers travel through time. There is still no guarantee about this theory playing out but it is the most discussed to be feasible. With the soon release of the long anticipated Endgame film, fans will not have to wait long to see how the story plays out.
