The Benjamin Franklin varsity football team has reached the end of their 2018 season. They fought and lost in the quarterfinals against the number one seed team, Northwest Christian. The Chargers are going to be losing three starting seniors in their upcoming season. The Chargers have lost Chandler Miles, Jordan Kemp, Braidyn Lemieux, McCalister Loving, Chris Rendon, and Grant Reeves.

The Chargers had a strong game plan all year and persevered through much. The Chargers had many injuries that occurred to a few of their starters (Tanner Willis, Zach Jefferies, and Danner Bowen) which caused a problem early on in the season. Through much hard work and perseverance, they were able to compete great in their division and stood out to the AIA executives. Many of the starters received recognition by the AIA for being outstanding players among the other players in the region. Chandler was the all region player of the year, being a key part on the Chargers football team; both on offense and defense.

Next year’s football team should hold great together for the upcoming 2019 season. The Chargers still have half of their starting offensive line, they still have one of their all-region wings, and their starting quarterback. The Chargers will have a good coaching staff as well, with many great coaches who are intelligent and teach the players good techniques, and best of all good life lessons and impress upon them good morals.

Next year’s Chargers will be a great team, and will be able to compete well against their opponents. It does not matter about the size of the players on the team or how much they lift, it matters on how much heart they have to give.
